The book “Let Me Play” by Karen Blumenthal is a very interesting book, it captures the stories of some of the most amazing people to ever walk this earth. This story is about women changing the world and how they fought for their right to be equal in this world. The thesis in this book is that women can do anything that men can do, and maybe better in some cases. Each chapter goes through the different time periods where women were making a change in this world from the beginning of the revolution to today. The author writes about many different women and their accomplishments including Edith Green who was a U.S Representative, and all the way through time to Mia Hamm who is a professional women's soccer player. This book teaches us about the struggles women had to go through and some of the struggles that they still go through today. It also shows how strong women are and how far they have come from being treated as lesser people which should have never happened in the first place. We are also told about the amazing feats that women have done and many cases where they were the first human being to accomplish some great feats. This book truly captures the history of women of all kinds, and proves that they are no lesser than men in any way.

I enjoyed this book a lot because it proves so many people wrong on the belief that women are lesser than men. The author gave so many tremendous examples on how women have accomplished just as much as men or more because they started out behind based on all of the prejudice. The author makes this book clear and easy to follow by using a timeline throughout the book, as well as graphs and pictures that prove the significance of the role of the female population in this world. Though the book does not have a lot of flow of a story based on the fact that it is set up like a timeline and characters keep changing, it does keep the reader interested because of the detail of the facts and images to go along with them. Also the graphs teach the reader a lot about what happened over time to women and show how much change they have made in this world. Overall I think the author did a great job in creating this book and making it very interesting for the readers.
